The huge storm on Friday, June 28, 2012, hit the Baltimore, MD/Washington, D.C. region especially hard. Winds were recorded at over 70 mph and people were left without power for days. The farm is just an hour outside of both Baltimore and Washington, and while we did not lose power, the orchard suffered damage. Over 50 apple trees (out of approximately 3,000 on the farm) were either blown out of the ground (roots and all) or were snapped off cleanly at the base of the tree. We were able to save the trees that blew out of the ground or leaned over, but had to get rid of the trees that snapped at the base. Links to the other albums are listed below this gallery.
