Thomas Jefferson was a renowned cider maker. One of his favorite apples was the Newtown Pippin, an apple first grown in New York City. This apple was exported in large quantities to Great Britain and once in France, Jefferson declared “They have no apples here to compare with our Newtown Pippin.” It is blended with other vintage cider apples in this off‐dry cider aged with American oak. The result is a bright apple front with buttery notes and a smooth smoke finish. Served chilled. Perfect with smoked fish and meat.
