The “champagne” of old time cider apples. Crisp, highly flavored, fine textured, yellow flesh makes very sugary juice. Although the origins are not clear, the Golden Russet arose in upstate New York before 1845. It keeps well and is excellent for eating, cooking, and juicing with a flavor more similar to Ashmead’s Kernel.
